The beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe dates back to 2008 when the first Iron Man was released for the world to see. It has since continued to evolve and change. The latest tremendous film event came this year when the film Avengers: Endgame came out in cinemas.

This last piece of the puzzle finally clarified to the fans which characters are still alive, who had traveled into the future, and which ones have now passed to Lethe.
As of today, not all of the plans by the Studio have been shared with the fans openly, but Red Rock Entertainment reviews compiled the existing info and announcements to report on what we can expect in the upcoming couple of years.

The Films

The latest news everyone anticipated to hear was announced during Comic-Con in San Diego this July. The closest and most expected solo film is Black Widow. The story follows a superspy who’s brilliantly played by Scarlet Johansson, and the movie is scheduled for release on May 1st, 2020.

It is supposed to introduce Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) as the second character to be called Black Widow, and the events of it will take place between Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: Civil War. A new character, the Red Guardian, is also supposed to appear on the screen for the first time, representing a Russian version of Captain America and played by David Harbour (Stranger Things).

A year from now (November 6, 2020) The Eternals, another NCU film, will likely present a number of new heroes and villains. The A-list stars have already confirmed their participation in the new movie, so get excited to see Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani and many others who will set the bar high for the new characters brought to life by Jack Kirby.

One of the most anticipated premieres for the MCU is also Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, which is planned to come out on February 12th, 2021. Expect to see Simu Liu and Tony Leung Chiu-wai as Shang-Chi and Mandarin respectively.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness planned for May 7, 2021, is definitely a contender for becoming a fan favorite as well, with the grand return of the Sorcerer Supreme. This film is bringing back Doctor Strange (obviously), Wong and Scarlet Witch (Benedict Wong and Elizabeth Olsen), directed by the famous Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Doctor Strange).

The next one is Thor: Love and Thunder planned for release on November 5, 2021. Thor and Valkyrie will be played by Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, Natalie Portman will surprisingly come back as Jane Foster, and the voice of Korg will once again be dubbed by Taika Waititi, who is also directing the whole production.

What’s even more shocking, Portman’s character will inherit the mantle of the Mighty Thor in some form. There is a precedent for this twist: in the comics, Foster became Thor while battling breast cancer after the Odinson was deemed unworthy. She had recently lost the title and became the new Valkyrie instead.

And the last but not least exciting confirmed announcement is Black Panther 2, the sequel to the original film by Ryan Coogler. He has also been confirmed to direct this premiere. The movie is currently planned to hit the theatres on May 6, 2022.

The TV Series

Besides the full features, Red Rock Entertainment reviews that a number of TV series are planned to release in between the sequence of successful films. If you want to stay on top of the news, subscribe to Disney+ streaming since this is the platform where the series will be available from now on.

Only a few shows have already been announced, and one of them is Falcon and Winter Soldier, which is planned to release the fall of 2020. The story will follow Captain America who gave his shield to Falcon in Avengers: Endgame. Another one is WandaVision lined up for the spring of 2021. It remains a mystery to the fans what the show will focus on, but according to Elizabeth Olsen who has played Wanda Maximoff from the MCU, it will revolve around Scarlet Witch’s inner life back in the 50s.

The fans of Tom Hiddleston should also be giddy with excitement because Loki has also been confirmed as a mini-series to be released in spring 2021. The TV series will focus on the impact Loki had on numerous pivotal events in human history.

Last but not least — there’s a promising TV show that is planned for Disney+ release called Hawkeye, planned for the fall of 2021. It is supposed to elaborate on the story of how the name was transferred from Clint Barton to his protégé, Kate Bishop, and the path Kate had to follow to obtain it.

Red Rock Entertainment reviews that phase four of the MCU production has already begun, but the studio is still keeping tons of exciting projects in secret from the fans.

Red Rock Entertainment considers this an exercise in patience, and get ready for more details to come out while you’re waiting for the huge fan-favorite Marvel Universe movies.
