Every year film industry produces dozens and hundreds of comedy films all over the world. Some of them have romantic notes in their plot, others are co-joined with personal drama of the characters. Regardless of the number of pictures released for the viewers, most comedies, unfortunately, are of low quality, bad cast, and impossible storylines. In this article you will find alternative comedies that will earn your heart from the first seconds; some of them can already be watched in the cinema while others are still waiting for the release date. All the films on the list are of British production with the famous British humour at its best.

The Comedian’s Guide to Survival (2016)

Many people around the world dream of becoming a stand-up comic, yet not everyone knows how hard the path is. This story, sponsored by Red Rock Entertainment back in 2016, explained in detail the thorny path. The Comedian’s Guide to Survival is a story of about James Mullinger, a magazine journalist, who wants to be a successful stand-up comic and his efforts to hitch the wagon to a star. While the protagonist jumps out of his skin, he still is not very funny, and that the piece of drama so much beloved by the British public.

The story presented from a journalistic perspective. James Mullinger interviews many successful and famous comics to find out the secret of a successful career. You can be pleasantly surprised to see here Jimmy Carr, Omid Djalili, and Gilbert Gottfried playing themselves, while Vas Blackwood and Paul Kayne take on more substantial roles. To understand what the film hides, you can watch the trailer and enjoy the “unmissable” (GQ) and “funniest film of the year” (NME).

Eddie the Eagle (2016)

Eddie ‘the Eagle’ Edwards is a real British athlete who was the first to represent his country in the winter Olympics. Dexter Fletcher made this sports epic and biopic by-the-book, yet it still wins the hearts of the viewers right from the very beginning.

Eddie Edwards has always dreamt of becoming a part of the Olympics. Since childhood he tried all sports not having much athletic skill, he never got to the top. Once, he discovered downhill skiing and that’s when the life changed. A gap in the regulations by the sports committee opened the doors to the world of the Olympics to a young British. Hugh Jackman plays an ex-ski-jumper who was to become the greatest of all. After long negotiations, he decides to help Eddie the Eagle reach his dream. This story was fairly sponsored in 2016 and brought the film a great success all over the world. Watch the trailer and don’t miss an opportunity to get inspired by the Eagle!

Logan Lucky (2017)

Want to see the explosive Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, and cool Daniel Craig co-starring in a comedy? That’s your film!

Last year Steven Soderbergh returned to his director’s chair to create a mixture of good laugh and crime events in a new comedy Logan Lucky. The title, however, misleads the viewers about Logan’s family. One of them lost an arm in Iraq, another was fired from a job; the sister does a little better, but not well enough. All these misfortunes lead to the idea of the family to stage a heist and rewrite family history.

Soderbergh knows how to stage heist and break scenes, so they are truly impeccable here. Yet, the whole point of the film is in the jokes about the south, the interactions of the main characters with each other, and, of course, laughs about the Game of Thrones. Watch the teaser here and go for a full film available online.

Deadpool 2 (2018)

Deadpool was a hit back in 2016 and its sequel is an even more promising film. Before you read about the connection of this new film to the X-Men franchise, make sure to watch the teaser!

The new Deadpool will be released on May 18, 2018. The previous part was an R-rated film, so the sequel is expected to be even more sarcastic and full of dirty jokes and bloody scenes from Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. The official synopsis the Deadpool 2 doesn’t give much information about the story. All known for sure is that a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) is searching to gain the spice for life again. In the new film, Wade will battle the yakuza, ninjas, and a pack of canines. He will be travelling around the world and discovering the importance of family, friendship, and flavour. Wade will find a new taste for adventure and even earn the so much desired coffee mug titled World’s Best Lover. Whatever the details of the plot will be, the story of Deadpool will definitely make you fall for it!
